How will the technological situation change in the near future? Scientists have been concerned about this issue for a number of years. Let’s see what to expect from hardware evelopers the following year.
- Eternal 5D disks for data storage
Researchers from the USA have created a 5D disc that can record data in 5 dimensions, lasting billions of years. It can store up to 360 terabytes of data. In a few years, such a disk will no longer be an experiment but will become the usual data storage.
Scientists claim that this technology will help not only to save information about our civilization for distant descendants, but also for space.
2. Virtual reality shopping
It’s unbelievable, but The Homeplus store has installed six full-size door screens with images of shelves with the goods you would have bought in a supermarket. Under each product, there is a bar code that can be scanned and sent using the application.
The Payscout VR Commerce app for Google Cardboard is already available on the Google Play Store, and the technology will be adapted for iOS and additional VR platforms soon.
3. Roll-up TVs
LG has developed a prototype TV that can be folded like a roll of paper. The TV uses polymer-based organic LED technology to reduce screen thickness. In addition to LG, other major electronics manufacturers such as Samsung, Sony and Mitsubishi are working to make screens more flexible and portable.
The price ofSignature OLED TV R has already been established: it will be possible to purchase this TV for $ 10,000. The model is presented only in a modification with a diagonal of 65 inches. LG has not yet shared the plans about the production of more compact or even larger models.
4. Graphene processors
They will process data faster than any of today’s computers. All data will be transmitted to a specific node that controls the operation of implants, external devices and the exchange of data with cloud servers. This node may take the form of a display implanted in the eye, but for most of us, it will look familiar – a touch screen that fits in your pocket.
5. Nanotechnology: the next stage
Machines will be so tiny that they will receive food for work from the simple rhythm of your heart or the chemical energy contained in our cells. With the help of nanotechnology, we will be able to fully monitor and develop drugs for such ailments as Alzheimer’s disease, or cancer, create more efficient energy carriers, amazing materials in their properties, practically eternal or destroyed only under the influence of certain light waves.
